"Motorrad" magazine tested ten luggage systems in its 19-2012 issue. The Hepco & Becker Xplorer was the only one to be rated "VERY GOOD" and was voted the sole TEST WINNER. The following features were given special mention:

- locks and fasteners lock into place well and are comfortable to operate
- practical carry handles
- highly usable capacity
- full-face helmet fits easily in 40 L box
- well positioned gear loops for extra roll bags
- hardly any drifting up to a top speed of 200 km/h
- absolutely waterproof
- very tidily made and very good quality

(Two luggage systems were rated "Very Good" in the test, but there was only one test winner)

"2Räder" magazine tested the Hepco & Becker Xplorer case in its 11-12 issue, rating it VERY GOOD and voting it the sole TEST WINNER. The following features were given special mention:

- User-friendly locks and closures operate reliably

- Design permits very efficient use of storage space
- Full-face helmet fits easily in 40 l case
- Well positioned lashing lugs for additional luggage
- Scarcely perceptible oscillation up to top speed (200 km/h/125 mph)
- Absolutely watertight
- Very good quality of make
